Whenever people ask me for places to visit in Melbourne I pretty much force them to try this place and then instantly regret it and want to keep it secret.
It’s one of those places that you could literally take anyone, your parents would love it, you’d pop there late at night with friends or you could easily pop in solo.
We head there late at night after we’ve been for dinner sit up at the counter and share whatever cake the old Italian man grunts is good.
There is probably better coffees out there but it’s the overall experience that keeps us coming back, well that and then this icy watermelon granita that’s worth the trip alone.
The whole feel of this place is so authentic and cosy like an old school Italian diner, from the rustic no frills charm to the cliché old Italian men who work there.
No fuss needed, it works as it is what it is. Good coffee. Homemade authentic pastas, and a decent slice of cake.
You get what you’re given and that’s fine with us.
